Electric Monkey is a vintage recording studio located in the center of Amsterdam
Electric Monkey's live room is 90m2 with 5m high ceilings, designed for musicians to enjoy its creative environment. The 30m2 Control Room has panoramic views over the Live Room, and houses vintage equipment that has been collected over many years. This includes a 28ch Cadac 1976 Mixing Console (originally from the Cinefox Studio's where the last spaghetti westerns were recorded by Ennio Morricone) I like it's warm and punchy pre-amps. Combined with a 70's Philips console and lots of other 60's and 70's toys.. (WSW, Siemens, Neve, EMT, Telefunken, Neumann, RCA) I also have a collection of microphones dating from the 30's till the present day.
